The author  has   been a counselor for  thirty  eight  years.  He   understands   anxiety and  worry  after  listening  to  many peoples  struggles. Edward Welch has also written  dozens of  books and has  an established   reputation in the  Christian world. This book is a devotional  to help   guide  the  anxious person  to seek the Lord for   their  peace and strength. He  starts out the  devotional  sharing  about   his struggles  with anxiety and  then shares  how  the Lord  can help   the anxieties in our lives. " The Bridge to Belle Island"   is  a mystery and  also romantic fiction.  Benjamin Booker is a lawyer and is in a  firm with several other  lawyers.   In the beginning   one of the lawyers  was  murdered.  Benjamin was  sent   to Belle  Island to  figure out   the  details on how the murder occurred and who  may have  killed   his partner.   Belle Island is  isolated and   the area  is a mystery . It is  located on the Thames   river.   Other  problems have occurred there which have not  been solved.  The  island   was  very  secluded and removed.  from other    areas  and  cities in London.  Why  would  there be unsolved mysteries there.   Isabelle  has lived there  for years. "Forged  Through Fire"  by Dr.  Mark D. McDonough  is a  autobiography.    Have you ever   had to walk through the trials of   being  burned?  Dr. McDonough   was  severely  burned  in a house fire.. He  faced  day  after   day of  trying  dealing with  his  pain and other health issues from his burns.   Each day  gave him new  struggles  that He had  to learn how to   walk  through.   In this  terrible  house fire  Mark also  lost his  Mother and  brother. He  had to learn how to  deal with his  severe  burns and  the loss of   very close  family members.  When  someone is  faced with  so  much  they learn  to ask questions   about  God .  He  was  at  an important crossroad  in his life  spiritually , physically and mentally.  God met him  in his deepest   physical, spiritual  and mental  needs.  Mark shared his  journey   though these trials   in this book.  I really  enjoyed  his honesty and  learning  about   his trials    He faced in his journey. "Moments  of  Peace for Moms"  is  a daily  devotional for Moms.   As  Moms   we have a unique job   .  We  can impact  and  set the basics for the foundation of our children's  lives.  We  can teach  them  important  values . We  can also  guide them in making  important decisions.   We  must  put  God first in our  daily lives so we can impact our  families. These  devotions  are a great way to put  God first. "Confessions of a Proverbs 32 Woman by Kerri Pomarolli    is a book about the proverbs  32 woman.  The author is a comedian and shares  the challenges  with  meeting the standards in   Proverbs 31.  It  addresses  real life issues as a Christian Woman  today. She  helps  us  laugh at  ourselves in this   book and see life  for what it is.  She is a best selling author. "When You Love a Prodigal" by Judy  Douglass is a  devotional.  The  book deals with the important topic of   prodigal children.  As a parent I feel for parents whose kids  become prodigals.  This parent  would be  filled with  so many difficult emotions.  God meets the parents where they are  at with all their  questions in this devotional.  There are different topics in each devotional with  scripture and then there are  questions of reflection.  I  admire  this  author  because she is real and open about  her  struggles in dealing with her  own prodigal.   There are many people who have prodigals and do not  have a resource  like this.  I  am hoping  by reading this  review people  will  read this book and get the help they  need so  as parents  they will not feel alone. "Outrageous Grace Every Day" by Mary DeMuth is a 90 day devotional. This book is written by Mary DeMuth in a personal and practical approach. She shares a passage of scripture and gives the back round of the passage. She also gives an application passage to the message and a prayer. The devotional is well written and the passages to read are not too long. I really found this devotional helpful and personable. Christianity for People  Who Are Not Christians by James Emery White is  a non fiction book.  James Emery White has  wonderful  experience  as a pastor , theologian   to write this book. It  addresses  the many  questions  that  skeptics ask about Christianity. The book is  well written and  very  easy to read and understand.  I  like the variety of questions the author addresses.   So often people have a  wide  range  of questions   when they   try to decide  if Christianity is right for  them.  Lee Strobel who is a known author was  an atheist. He   says He  wishes   this book  was   available when He  was wrestling with his questions. I highly  recommend this  book .  I appreciate the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book. "When I Close My Eyes " by Elizabeth Musser is a Christian fiction book. This story deals with important issues like how do people cope physically and emotionally when trauma strikes. and depression. When trauma strikes the patient is faced with lots of emotions like shock, anger , depression. The author describes the characters well and their dilemmas in their lives. The daughters response to the trauma of their Mom is expressed very well. The book is written from the past and then to the present. The reader sees the characters from different ages. I commend the author for addressing the problem of a serious trauma and depression. Often in our society people with depression and trauma are not given what they need to meet their needs. The author put some helpful resources in the back of the book for people dealing with depression. I know that people dealing with depression will receive help from those resources. The

"Lake Season is the first in the Bluebell Inn Romance series" by Denise Hunter. Denise is a well established author. and winner of the Carol Award. The scene is beautiful at Bluebell , North Carolina . It is on a lake and serene and peaceful. There are boats there for the visitors to retreat and recharge. The story unfolds in the charming inn that is owned by the family who are the main characters of the story. The inn is run by the family and is so unique and unusual will draw anyone to it for respite and renewal. The scene is a perfect place for a romance. "The Roll of the Drums" second in the Amish of Weaver's Creek Book series  by Jan Drexler  gives the reader  a peek at what  Amish life is like  .  The  story takes place in 1863. Ruby Weaver  lives with her sister and she is single.   Another family   came to  the  area and asked if they  could  stay  there . . The  book shows the theme  of loyalty  and devotion.  I admire  the  character of  Ruby.  She is  so  steadfast and faithful. and endearing.    The reader will  feel like they  are part of the story. When Silence Sings by Sarah Loudin Thomas

When  Silence Sings"  by  Sarah  Loudin Thomas is an historical fiction book.  The  story is  set in the Appalachian   rail town in  West Virginia. in the 1930's.    There has  been a family  feud for  generations with   the McLean's  and the Harpe's.  The   drama  evolves with the  challenges of  the  families  trying to  win the  battles  against the other families.  The characters are very well described and  the   scenes   as well. The reader will feel as  though they have stepped into  these  families and there challenges.  The  book helps you see  what  times were like  during that  era.  Coleman is a Harpe and  works for the railroad. He  has a  rich character and  wants to  bring  God's  love  to these  troubled  families as a preacher.   I  appreciate   Bethany  House  for allowing me to read and review  this  well written  story.  Thank you also  to netgalley. Mountains of Grace by Kelly Irvin

" Mountains of Grace"  by  Kelly Irvin is  an Amish fiction story.  Mercy Yoder  lives in the mountains of Montana.  She   has to follow the  strict  rules of her Amish  Community.   She ends up having  to   decide  if  she will follow  the  Amish  boyfriend or follow the  Englisher who  lives in Eureka .  Mercy  has a kind and  caring  heart.  She  wants to   go out of her way for  those near to her.  She often  extends herself  in a way  that  hurts her in the end.   What  will happen to the people  when the fires hit  them in a  strong way and   hurt their  safety? " Strands of Truth " by Colleen Coble is a suspence,  romance book   and  will leave  you hanging on  your  seat   on what is coming around the corner. Harper  Taylor   was a  foster child and  went from one home  to the next  . She    is looking   for  her mother's past and her  sister as well.   She  has to dig to find her  answers.   There is  suspense  with the cliffhangers in front of  Harper stopping her from moving forward.  Crime  activity abounds in this  book over and  over.  What  are the generational  secrets   that will come forward?  I enjoyed  the   ups and the downs of  each  phase of the book.   I  liked  Harper's  tenacity to find what  she  was  looking for  in her past  even though obstacles  kept coming her  way.  The  scenes are  well  described and  easy to follow.  I would  highly recommend this book.  I  am thankful to the publisher, netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. "God's  Hostage"  by  Andrew   Brunson is a true  story.  Andrew and His  wife  Norine    were asked by  their  mission organization to  go to  Turkey   as missionaries in 1993.  They  set up a church  and  also helped many refugees from  Syria.  They  often encountered people who had never  heard about  Jesus.  Many people there  did  not know how to become a Christian.  Many people in  Turkey are Muslim  and   the  Muslim  religion is  very  strong there. Their   work in Turkey always  put   them at  risk.  In  2016    Norine and Andrew were arrested.    Norine  was  released after  about 2 weeks.  Andrew  was held  for a longer  sentence.  He  encountered many trials while in prison. He  was  accused  of many   false  charges  ;such as,  being a spy,  of  starting a coup,  and  any other   possible charge  .  This  book is really inspiring .  How  did  Andrew survive   being in prison?  I  commend  Andrew for  sharing his story in this book.  I  know  it  was not easy

"Stitches in Time"  by  Suzanne Woods  Fisher is  an Amish fiction book.  It  is  part of the Deacon's  family series. Sam Schrock  is  a horse  trainer.   Mollie Graber is  new to  this  Amish  community.  She is a teacher.  She  wants  a new  start.   Sam's   brother   gets elected to be come deacon. Luke is married and  is a bit overwhelmed  by the challenges of becoming    deacon. There are lots of demands  on the deacon  in the Amish community. "Praying the Names of Jesus"  by   Tony  Evans is a practical and personal devotional.The devotional   progresses in  alphabetical order.  It  starts out with a verses.  In the next  section  it  progresses to  adoration and what  that means with that name.   The  reader next  confesses  sin that goes with that name. Out of  Zion"   is a  nonfiction book  by  Lisa  Brockman.  Lisa  was  raised a 6th generation    Mormon.  She  learned  all the  traditions and regulations  required  as  she grew up Mormon.  She   worked hard at  her classes and also was on the tennis team and  also  attended the Mormon church faithfully.   She  dated a guy  in college who was  Christian.  She   went through a  period where she questioned   her Mormon  beliefs.  She had trouble  getting her answers.  She  was not allowed or permitted to  question her beliefs. She   got  some books  to help her  with her  questions. One of the books  was  Beyond Mormonism.  She  also  attended  Campus  Crusade for Christ when she was in college. Over time  she  learned  the difference between  the Mormon vs  Christian beliefs. She   shared  the  differences  between  Mormonism and Christianity in her book. She also  shared how her life was  changed.  This book is  really insightful . It  helps the  reader understand the  Mormon

"A Christmas  Haven "  by  Cindy  Woodsmall and Erin  Woodsmall is  an Amish Christmas  story. Ivy Zook  is from the Amish Old  Order.  She  wants to  leave and  start  a business in which she would put on parties. It  is  hard to  start her business there since  she  needs the internet and the Amish do not use the internet and other modern conveniences.  The problem is  her sister Holly is  close  to  get married to Joshua Smucker   and  then their  widow mother will be left alone. In the midst of  all of  this  an  older car  crashes into  Greene's  Pharmacy . The Number of Love " by  Rosanna White is an historical fiction  book. It  takes place during World  War 1.  The Intelligence  Network helped to  decipher  the   German's  codes during the  war.   Those workers were very important. Margot  DeWilde  enjoyed  being  a code breaker and worked in   Secretive  Room 40. Drake Elton  came home from the  war and was  wounded. He  is taken with Margot.  They  are faced with one conflict  after another. Will   Margot and  Drake  survive it all?   This  book  gives some good insights about the secret intelligence  and other  challenges during World  War I.  The   book is well written.   Thank you to the publisher and author for allowing me to read and review  this book. Hit Hard " by Tammy and Pat McLeod is a true story. The McLeod's son Zach collapsed while playing football. He sustained a brain injury. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment after He collapsed. He had many surgeries . After the brain injury He was never really the same. The parents had to learn how to work together and the kids had to learn how to adapt to the changes with Zach. They had to look to God in the midst of their trials.  King's  Shadow  by  Angela   Hunt  is a Biblical  fiction book.  It  is the  4th and final book in the Silent Years  Series.   Salome  is  Herod's  only  sister.  She is the King's  Shadow. She is  Idumean and a Jew  and  is interior.  She   is involved in  many  conflicts and turmoil  during  Herod's  reign. She does not always  agree with Herod's  decisions  but   can not change them.  Zara , her handmaiden is  very kind and compassionate.    The characters and scenes are well described in  this book.  The reader will understand   what it was  like to live during Biblical times.   I appreciate  the publisher and author for allowing me to read and review this book.  I have posted my reviews on Goodreads, CBD.com, amazon, my blog, facebook  and given it to church staff.
