"Get Out of Your Head" by Jennie Allen is a Christian Living book.. Jennie is the founder of the If Gathering and wants to motivate Women to live what they believe. She is a best selling author. She has written Bible studies. She is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary in Biblical Studies. Her book is excellent. She is challenging the reader to deal with their spiraling thoughts. She reminds us that we are to bring our thoughts captive to the Lord and not just keep them in our head. She says we can retrain our mind. The spiraling thoughts make it hard for us to be effective in our day to day lives. She also encourages us to think about what is good, and positive each day. This book is a good resource for counselors, pastors, pastor's wives, any layperson. The book is practical and helpful. I was given the book to read and review. It is well written. Managing Worry and Anxiety by Jean Holthaus

"Managing Worry and Anxiety"  by Jean Holthaus is a Christian living book. She is a licensed  therapist and has  lots of experience working  with anxious people.  She  explains   what anxiety is and  uses research.   She  tells  what the medical  treatments including medicines  that can  be used  to help  patients.  She  shared practical step by  step approaches to help patients. She  also  shares how peoples view of  God can be distorted and  hurt their   daily lives.  She  gives examples of  how  God worked in the Bible and how  that can encourage us to have a deeper relationship with Him. She  even shared some examples  when she has worried and how it  has  hurt her .She  shared how she could have  done things differently so she did not  worry. She  also  shows   ways  we think  that can  promote worrying. She  helps  us change those faulty thinking patterns  with good examples. This  book is  a good resource for  therapists, counselors, any Christian , pastors. This book 

Isaiah's Legacy by Mesu Andrews

"Isaiah's Legacy " by Mesu  Andrews is a Biblical fiction book. This  book takes  place  during Old Testament times.   When King Hezekiah  dies  his son Manasseh   takes over the throne at   twelve  years old.  There  are themes of  power, control, dishonesty,  in this book.  The people   are  torn between  worshiping Yahweh  and other  gods. The  king  wants to show others He has the power  but  the other countries also want the power.   This book  shows  the reader what life   was like during Old Testament times.  It  shows the   different  influences  that   competed for the peoples attention .  The  king  tried to have power over the  people and was not always  fair in his decisions. This book is well  researched.  The author   gives good descriptions of life  during Bible times in the Old  Testament times.   I was given this book to read and review  and the opinions are my own . "The Hole in Our Gospel  10th Anniversary Edition"  by Richard  Stearns  is a Christian Living book.  Richard  Stearns  has  been the president of  World Vision since 1989.  He is the President of World Vision and responsible for U.S. operations, which include fund raising, advocacy, and program development.  He has  seen so many difficult situations in our world. He also  sees the  stance  Christians take to the difficult  situations.  He   realizes we  get comfortable and do not want to help  or support  these difficult situations.  He challenges  us to  be open to the areas  that  are like holes in our lives and be  willing to change.  He   shares  personal stories  of  the difficult situations He has  seen in the world. He  shares  statistics as well  of the  poverty, illness in our world.  It is really hard for us to grasp  the difficulties in our world. The stories He  shares make the difficult  situations more real and  makes  us   think about our need to  be part of 

Jesus Over Everything by Lisa Whittle

" Jesus Over Everything" by Lisa Whittle is  a Christian Living  book.  Lisa is a writer, speaker and has a non profit ministry  Ministry Strong. She does podcasts  on Jesus Over Everything.   This book is  well written and very practical. She  addresses the hard issues of   what do we place above Jesus.  It is  easy to   value other things above  Jesus. We  surrender our lives to Jesus  and think He is first. We  then  can easily   struggle to balance with all the other  things  that compete for our attention. She is  very candid and open  about our need to address the issues  that are competing for our attention.  i  like her honesty and  ability to  address the hard topics.  This book is well written.  I  was given this   book to read and review and the opinions are my own. The Tea Chest by Heidi Chiavaroli

"The  Tea Chest"   is  an  historical fiction book   . The book  goes  back and forth  between the past and the present. The past  is  1773  during the Patriots  and  England during  the Boston Tea party.  There is  the  struggle for independence in Boston and  England  struggling for    their continued  control of the  colonies.   You will feel like you have  stepped into history  when you read this well written and researched book.  Emma  is the character in the  Boston period. She supports  the Patriots    but her  father  is not happy with her  stance.   does  all she can to support her husband in  the  battle for independence.   She is loyal and dependable.    There  are many obstacles   toward  their  road to independence.  I like the  connection the author  makes with the present.  I   know it was a lot of work   and time  to  put all these connections  with the past and present together. The Land Beneath Us by Sarah Sundin

"The Land Beneath  Us" by Sarah Sundin is   the third book in the Sunrise  at  Normandy  series.  The  book takes place during  World War 11.  It is so well researched and written.   It is historical fiction.  The   scene of the story is  Camp Forrest and  also   Normandy.  The author   writes about  all the hard  preparation the   soldiers have to do  The character of  Leah Jones is  very memorable and touching. character.  She   is  an orphan and is  working  at  Camp  Forrest  as a librarian. She  was   inspiring  to  move forward with  her life .  She    felt   the  absence of not having parents.  She showed  a huge amount of courage to conqueror  the challenges in front of her .  She has a heart of forgiveness which is  to be admired.  I  think it is good for people to understand the  sacrifices during War time.  I think the  story    reminds the reader of those sacrifices. .  The flow of the story is   back and forth between the events at the  Camp  base and   the  war 

Saints by Addison Bevere

"Saints  " by  Addison  Bevere is  a Christian living book.  Addison is the COO  of  Messenger International wants us to  know we are saints and can live  knowing  we are saints. We have a new nature  since Christ has come.We are to  live  above the rules and show character. We  are to live above the rules and show character.  He   says  Christians often judge and point the finger at others and are not willing  to die for the people in the world. We  have  to  look beyond ourselves and deny ourselves and follow  Christ.  We have to  lay our  false self down and follow Christ. We have to  daily  lay down our cross.   This  book is powerful and  challenges  Christians to a higher  calling.  He is honest about  how He  thinks Christians need a new identity and  view of themselves.  This  book is  inspiring and motivating  for the Christian.  He   reminds us that  God operates out of love.  Thank you to  Revell  for allowing  me to read and review this outstanding book.
