There are some  good fill in the blank sections at the end of the   devotionals. The  devotionals are practical and helpful The  questions are excellent  and helpful.  She is an  author for Proverbs  31 Ministries,  Encouragement for Today which is an online devotional. She  has written  15  books. She  has   been  on these   TV  shows , magazines social networks: TODAY Parenting, FoxNews.com, Redbook.com, Crosswalk.com, and HomeLife Magazine.  #Finding  Quiet#  by  Jamie  Grace  is   a Christian living book.   Jamie  Grace is   a contemporary Christian  musician.   She is honest about  dealing with  Tourette Syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD  and  anxiety  disorder.  She  shared the ups and downs in her life  and  she   dealt  with  these   difficulties.  She  was only  9 years old when she  was diagnosed  with   those conditions. She  shared  how she  handled  the struggles in front of her. It is  wonderful  she   took that time to  be honest with  people in this  book.  Jesus  Freaks  is  written by   the  music group  DC  talk and the Voice of  the Martyrs.  Voice   of the Martyrs.  is  an organization  that was started by Richard  Wurmbrand.  He  was imprisoned for his faith for 14 years in    Communist Romania.  The  book has  stories from the past  and present of persecuted  Christians.  It is   important for  Christians  to know    about those who  have been persecuted and  are persecuted  .  It  helps us know how  we can  pray for  the persecuted  church.  It  also  helps us to not take our   freedoms for granted.   It is wonderful  this book is being reprinted.   The stories  take  place  in areas like Sudan, Jordan and other places in the world.  #  The Love Note#  by  Joanna  Politano  is a  Christian romance, mystery   fiction book.  This book takes  place  in the  Victorian era  in 1865  in Crestwicke Manor.    The book is written  with Willa as the narrator and from her perspective.   Willa  strongly  desires to be a doctor. She has  been  years  helping her  Dad in his medical practice.  She  has   mercy and compassion for  the sick.   She is a kind person.  The   book is written  with  beautiful prose .  It is well written.   Still The One: Still  The One is by Susan May  Warren and Rachel  Russell.  Susan  is a best selling author. She  teaches  people how to write .  She  was received the Christy, Rita and Carol Awards!  Her books  have so much action , suspense . romance and Christian values.   that it is hard to put them down.  This book is the first in the Deep Haven series.  The setting is   a small  city on the North Shores of Minnesota.   Cole is one of the main characters. He is  a ranger and wants to be  a U.S  Marshall.   He  has  character and seeks to do what is honorable. He wants to make a difference in his world. Beyond the Valley by Dave Branon

 #Beyond the Valley#  by Dave Branon is  a Christian living book.   Dave Branon works for Our Daily Bread  as a author. This book is a republication  after   10 years.  Dave and his  wife suffered  lost their daughter when she was 17 years old.  He  shares  about  his personal struggle with  grief.   This book is written with compassion.  He   shares  Psalm 23 and how God can meet us during our times of grief.   Psalm  23 is  a wonderful Psalm and a  great  source of  strength  during loss.   Jesus will be our shepherd during times of loss.   The book is personal and very practical.   He  reminds  us of how God's  character is  still the same .  God can help us through these difficult  days.   He  addresses the questions  grieving parents have.   This book  would be a great help for pastors, counselors as they  work with those who are grieving. The book  does not give pat  answers. The book helps  the listener know what is the  right thing to say to the grieving person.   Thank you

This book is an important book for  Christian Women.  So often We  compare ourselves to others and many other  things in front of us. She  addresses the  many different areas we compare ourselves .  She shares about Jesus and His view of us.  She shares scripture to explain how  God  views us.  It is important  we focus more on how  God views us and not  how the  other  things  view us.  She shared how damaging  these other    things  can be to our lives. She has  questions  for self reflection at the end of the chapter.    After reading each chapter I  had to pause and reflect so  i   was able to  do the inner work  the chapter was asking. She empathized how the reader needs to know  Jesus's character . She wants us to depend on Him more . He is more  reliable than the other many

 My Prayer  Journey is a  gift product  from  Ink and Willow  and published by Waterbrook. This book is  wonderful resource for the Christian. It  has a place for prayer requests. You can record  your answers to prayer as well. There is a chart. There is a place to record what you are worried about , thankful for and   what you are praying for.  #Things We didn't  Say# by  Amy Lynn Green is an historical fiction book.   This is Amy's first book.  The  story is told with letters.  The book takes place during World War II.   During World War II  there are POW  camps.  The  camps are not very patriotic and   Americans do not want to have  anything to do with the camps.  The  workers at the camp  get  criticized and the  POWs  at the camp as well.   The work at the camp is also criticized. The person who  writes the letters for the camp develops empathy for   the difficulties the POW prisoners face. The  story helps the reader understand the difficulties of  being in a POW  camp. The letters are personal and   real.  The story is well written and the characters are well described.  #Goliath Must  Fall for Young Readers #  is by Louie Giglio.  Louie  is the pastor of  Passion City  Church and started the Passion   City movement.  He  is a best selling  author  .   Goliath must  fall  is  based on a sermon series Louie   gave.   This book  is  written for the younger reader.   The book tells the story of Goliath and   applies  the story  to the issues   people face today.  The   story is very applicable to  the younger  reader.   The  story   is written with good examples  that the younger reader will identify with.  The story is very  personable.  I like the way Louie  brings the story  at the level of a younger reader.  There are good questions for reflection after   the examples  are presented that   tie into the weakness the  writer is  sharing.  There is a space to  write back on  the question the  quthor is asking. She  has over five million of her  books sold .  This book   is a beautiful   example of  what life was like during   the time of Jesus. It is the second book in the Jerusalem  Road  series.  The book is a strong comparison of life  with two sisters of  Yeshua.  One sister is married to a Pharisee who is rich. The other sister is married  to a shepherd.   The shepherd's wife  is  very caring and kind.  #Softly blows the Bugle #  by  Jan Drexler is an Amish  Fiction book.  This book is  the third in the the Amish of Weaver's Creek series. Jan  brings a wonderful perspective  to her writings with her Amish and Mennonite back round.   The  book is  beautifully written.   It  has  romance , suspense, and action.   The  Amish  values  are  woven in a beautiful way into this book.  The book takes  place in 1863.   The book is written  from   Elizabeth Kauffman's  perspective.  She  strives to be kind, loving, honest in her  dealings with others.  The themes are : forgiveness,  steadfast love, faithfulness, loss. , resilience .  I  like Aaron as a character in the book. He  was in the Battle  of  Vicksburg.  . He  lost his  leg.  There is a scene in the book when  one of the young  children are  at risk from a bull hurting  him.  Aaron  puts  his body over the child to  protect him and  prevent  him from getting hurt.  Aaron already has his own challenges  getting around  one one l

She  was  born in the Middle  East  .  She  ended up going to school in the England and later  went to  the  United States. She  got  a  Master's  in Divinity  from Yale. She  was  the co-chair   for Evangelical Fellowship   at  Yale for a year. This  book was  republished  for the 10th anniversary!   The  book is  very inspiring.  Rahab  is  a character in the Bible.  The author  writes her  story in a beautiful  way.  She  shows how her  character   grows and changes.  She  helps the reader understand  what  life  was  like  in Jericho  at  that time.   The reader will feel like  they can relate  and connect more to her story.   The  story is inspiring.   Pearl in the Sand is a beautiful title for the book.  The  pearl is  developed  in this  book.   The reader will feel like they are living  life  at  that time

Eli's Promise by Ronald H. Balson

 # Eli's  Promise#  by  Ronald H.  Balson is   an outstanding historical fiction book. Ron  has  written several  historical fiction books. He  received the National   Jewish Book award.  He is  an attorney   practicing  at  Stone, Progrund and Korey in Chicago.  He has  been an adjunct professor of  law at the University of Chicago for  twenty- five years.  He  has  traveled internationally  for his law practice. His traveling has   given him the inspiration for his novels. In 2000 He  went to Warsaw  and Southern Poland for with a telecommunications lawsuit.   While He was on that  trip He  was very moved  by the statues  from  World War II and got the inspiration to write  these historical fiction  books.   This book is a masterpiece and hard to put  down. This book is beautifully written .  It takes place during World War II.  The book is  fast moving and   once you start the book it is hard to   put it down until the last page. The emotional difficulties   are clearly   explained in this book.   The characters are caught off guard  when  World War II starts hoping   their lives will not be disrupted.  Eva is a musician and hopes to continue her   music lessons.  She is  disrupted when  Nazi  military men  show up  to turn   her life and others   there apart.  The book takes place in Hungary. The  characters are well developed and  the reader will   be drawn to their  weaknesses and struggles in their lives.   The struggles and weaknesses make the characters more real .  The themes are abandonment, loss, self sacrifice, unconditional  love.    Pearl is a  character I  admired.  She  cared for many people in the  story.  She extended herself  beyond  what many people do.  She  reached out to  a homeless man, took care of a baby , supported the   local minister and his wife,  volunteered for a local  nonprofit organization that  helped   hurting people.  # The Stone Wall  #  by  Beverly Lewis is an Amish Christian  fiction book.   Beverly is a best selling author and  has  written many  books. Some of her  books have become movies.   Stone Wall is  set in Strasburg.  , Pennsylvania.. Strasburg is  an Amish town which has  Old Amish  roots.  The Old Amish  were more traditional and did not use electricity  or  drive cars.  Anna the  main character  is kind and caring. This book is the  3rd in the  Codebreakers  series.  It  takes place during World War I.  It is  a tense time.  There   are cryptographers and   work in the intelligence division.  They   decode messages from the enemy.   Lily Backwell  retouches and creates  pictures  .She works at the intelligence division.  She also works at the hospital.  There is terrible pandemic  that  occurs  during this time.  Lily sees  many people die from this  bad flu.   It is heart  breaking for her to   see many people die.  The story takes place in England. This story is well researched and give the reader an idea of   what   life was  like during World War  I.  The characters , setting are  sell described.  #The Light at Wyndcliff# by  Sarah Ladd  is   a Regency romance .  The  book is  part of the Cornwall series.   and is written in 1820.   Cornwall is in the  coast in England.  It is  beautiful and set in a cove.  There are ship wrecks and  other  unknown things  that occur there.   Wyndcliff estate is  there in the cove.  It is a relaxing  place from the busy city life.  The themes in the  book are  good vs  evil,  forgiveness, self sacrifice.  The book is well written. The  character, setting   descriptions are detailed and easy to follow.   The  setting takes the reader to Cornwall wanting to experience the  beautiful cove. In Cornwall   in the cove  you can dig for  china clay  and   find ships there. Karen Kingsbury  is a  best selling author.  Her   Baxter series books are going to be made into  a TV  show.  She teaches writing at Liberty  University. She and her  husband  adopted  3  boys  from  Haiti in 2001.  #Truly, Madly,Deeply#  is   in the Baxter  family series.   Tommy  is  part of the Baxter family.  Tommy   heard about  his  grandfather  who  died on the   .2011 bombings. He  never met him but  knew he sacrificed his life for  others.  Tommy    decided  He  wanted to be a policeman and sacrifice his life for others.   He   went on drive by  car  trips with other cops to experience the job.   He  developed a  real strong desire to help make  a difference in the world.  The characters are well described.  The   struggles and trials the characters experience are   very real in our world. The author has a beautiful way of bringing  scripture into the trials  the characters face.  The story is moving

 #World Changers#  by  Greg Laurie is a nonfiction Christian book.  Greg Laurie is a Senior pastor  of Harvest  Christian Fellowship.   Harvest Christian Fellowship is in  California and Hawaii. He  became a pastor  when He was  19 years old.   He is also an author.   He wants to  disciple  Christians and teach ,them that   they can change our world.  He   writes about  different people that have changed the world in the Bible . He   talked about   the character and   then   shows how we can apply what  we learned about the character to our life and   in the end change our world. This organization is in a  troubled  Chicago neighborhood.  There are many gangs and troubled kids in that neighborhood.  She  opened her home to  influence and help these kids be successful and  not  go down the way of the gangs.  The  kids  did  their homework with her . They  shared  their   troubles  with her.  She  fed them.   She  became very close to so many of these kids.  Many of the kids were involved in  gun violence  and drugs.  She  helped more than 3,000 at  risk kids.  This story is so very inspiring.  She  felt  God  called her to  help  these kids and set up  this nonprofit organization.   Waging Peace is written by Diane Oestreich is a wonderful non fiction Christian book. Diana Oestreich, was a combat medic in the Army National Guard, and was stationed in Iraq. She was placed in situations to question what her values and ethics were. She was told to run over an Iraq child to keep her convoy and battle buddies safe. She did not agree with this. She crossed the boundaries and befriended and Iraq family. After she was home she continued to live ways to be peaceful in difficult situations. She attend racial marches with her children. She continued to show love and peace by going the extra mile for others. This book is well written, inspiring and needed in our day and age. I was given this book to read and review by the author. I commend her for a well written book. I hope the book is successful.

 Women Who Risk#  by  Tom  Doyle and  Jo Ann Doyle  is a nonfiction Christian book.  Tom is an author and pastor .  He  has  been a pastor in the Middle East for   25 years.   His wife  also  helped write this book.   This book is  has  gripping ,  heart bending accounts  of  women in the Middle East who have become  Christians  after being Muslim.   The  stories are so moving. The  reader will have a hard time putting the book.  This  women  have faced so many challenges by  being married to  a Muslim  but  now   they  risk  being  killed for their  faith. So  many stories like these  are  really not openly shared.  Tom and  Jo Ann have   been so kind for 25 years  sacrificing and helping    the    unreached people  for Christ  in these difficult areas.   The  transformation in these  women after  coming to Christ is very  dramatic.    They are often  threatened  by  their families and other people in the  Muslim  community after becoming a Christian. . # Fragments of Light#  by  Michele Phoenix  is a historical fiction book. This   book is a masterpiece and so hard to put down. Michele grew up in France.  She is an educator, writer and speaker. She  taught  for 20 years  in Germany .  The  story is a time split between  Cal who  was  a paratrooper  on D day  on June 6, 1944.   and  Cecile   a breast cancer survivor  75 years later.  The reader will feel like they have walked through the  shoes of a D  Day  survivor after reading the book.   The beginning  of the  book  the reader will find Cal  and  the injuries of D Day.   At the end of the book the    veterans  share their memories of D Day and  the  visitors   go to  a D Day  exhibit. and demonstration and meet  survivors in France.  The  story is so beautifully researched and written.   Cal is a brave and determined character.    Cecile   goes through the trials of breast cancer in all its forms.  She is brave and she endures  so much loss  and continues to  move forward.   It is

She is a best selling author and has won the Carol, Christy and Christian book awards. Kate Millington , went on the Bride Ship to British Colombia. She went to a mining town in Williamsville to marry her fiance. She is a honest, and has integrity. She has high standards. She wants God to be first in her life. She also wants her fiance to have God first in their life. She will not settle for someone who does not have these standards. I commend her for standing up for her principles and putting God first in her life. She is a beautiful character. The characters and settings are well described.
