Boston Bride Salvation by Chloe Carley
Boston Bride Salvation is a Christian Romance story. The story is taken from the story of David and the Philistines. The main character Fiona travels to Colorado in 1877 to meet her fiance. This fiance Clayton was set up with her by a mail order arrangement. It is unbelievable that she would trust a future husband with her life when she did not know him at all or anything about him. She had a train ride and was really tired when she finally meets Clayton at his ranch. There is no minister available to marry them and she felt uncomfortable staying in his house since she was not married and often alone with him in his house. He is a huge disappointment since He is abusive and He is an alcoholic. She is rather stuck in this situation and not any family or friends in the area to help her out. I am sure she felt trapped. The hired help Maria was not around very much. When she first got to Clayton's house there was a period of time like a weekend when no one was there but Fiona and Clayton. As a reader I felt for Fiona since she had very little money and could not see a way out. Clayton did not treat Fiona with any respect. She lived in the same house until the Cheyenne Indian tribe appeared and captured her. In some ways she was glad to get out of the environment with Clayton and his abuse. The Cheyenne Indians would not let her go since they felt she gave them good luck. Clayton was desperate to get his fiance back and got the US. Calvary come to try and get her out. The U.S. Calvary were kind to her but she did not want to go back to Clayton. She is an admirable character since she learned how to handle the trials of her life with scripture and prayer and constantly turned to God. She became mad like something was wrong with her when she was with the Cheyenne Indians just to try to get away. In the end what will happen to her once she meets the U.S. Calvary? Will her life end on a positive note? Why not read this book to see how her character evolves and changes to the good or the bad?
